Aegis Mods: Our Top Five Picks

The Aegis X Mod is one of the latest devices to be released by Geekvape. It’s also one of the best Aegis mods you can buy today and for multiple reasons. For one, it features a gorgeous 2.4 inch OLED color display screen which isn’t common amongst other cheap box mods. Additionally, the Aegis X is powered by the latest AS2.0 chipset which not only providers the vaper with tons of features, but allows this device to deliver 200w!

One important feature you’ll get with this device is temperature control. You’ll be able to use TC for various wire materials including the three most popular - stainless steel, Ni200 and Ti. Another awesome feature is the uni-body 510 connector. This means that your atomizers will sit flush right in the center. By far this is something many vapers want Not to mention, your larger 28mm and 30mm attys will look right at home when you’ve got them attached on the Aegis X 200w Mod. Like all the other Aegis Mods, this one is IP67 which means it is waterproof, dustproof and shockproof.

Our next pick is actually a full starter kit rather than a mod on its own and that’s the Aegis Legend Mod Kit. Now, do keep in mind that there are two different versions that you can get. The first and original Aegis Legend Mod Kit and the newer Aegis Legend Mod Kit limited edition. This newer version offers unique features including the magnesium alloy construction allowing for a lighter yet stronger device. However, either Aegis Legend is an awesome choice, so let’s get into why this is one of our favorites.

The Aegis Legend was something many vapers wanted since the initial release of the original Aegis Mod and that’s one that can utilize two high drain 18650 vape batteries. Geekvape listened to the vaping community and delivered an excellent product. While it houses 2 batteries and the same IP67 rating, the Aegis Legend Mod still isn’t that big of a device, which was a fear for many vapers. Adding that level of protection plus not one, but two external batteries can lead to a huge mod which thankfully isn’t the case with this one.

As mentioned earlier, we do like the full kit, so you’ll get both the Aegis Mod 200w alongside either the Zeus Tank or the Aero Mesh Tank. In regard to which to choose between the two, we’d say the newer limited edition Aegis Mod Kit as it does offer some minor improvements that’s well worth the small price increase.

Additionally, the Zeus sub ohm tank is a pretty awesome vape on its own, especially with the included mesh coils. However, if you’re able to snag a discount with the older version and looking to save some cash, it’s well worth it too in our opinion. We don’t think you’d be disappointed either way. Unlike our previous pick, we like the Aegis Solo Mod only and that’s because it’s a stellar device to match with smaller atomizers rather than a power hungry sub ohm tank. Like the Aegis Legend 200w, the Aegis Solo Mod was something vapers simply craved. A single 18650 Aegis Mod that’s smaller yet offers the same durability as all the others. That is exactly what Geekvape delivered with their Aegis Solo.

Aside from that, it does sport the latest AS chipset as well which provides you with an accurate vape experience. While it’s not as powerful as the Aegis Mod 200w, it can still provide you with up to 100w of power. That’s quite impressive given the actual size of the Aegis Solo box mod.

Something to keep in mind is that if you are taking advantage of its higher wattage output, you will indeed run through batteries pretty quickly. If you’re a higher wattage vaper then you might want to think twice about this device unless you don’t mind switching out batteries frequently. With that being said, it does pair really well with single coil RDAs and RTAs since those atomizers generally require much less power. To get the absolute most battery life out of the Aegis Solo Mod, you’ll want to attach an MTL tank.

We will say that the Aegis Solo Mod only is definitely not for every vaper out there. However, to the vapers who want something they can depend on and vape at lower wattages, you will absolutely love the Aegis Solo. There’s even a new SynthWave Limited Edition that you can get. For you vapers who like the larger battery sizes and don’t mind a slightly bigger device, there is the new Aegis Max which can house a single 21700 battery.

All in all, the Aegis Solo has all the awesome features you want from the Aegis series packed into a small body. If you’re looking for the smallest of the bunch, you’ll definitely want to check out the Aegis Mini. You’d be even more surprised by how compact that one is.

While we highly do not recommend vaping that low of a resistance, it is amazing to see that it is possible. With lower resistance TC wire, it’ll definitely come in handy.

On the front of the Aegis Squonk Mod you do have their traditional 0.96 inch screen. It’s not as fancy as the screen you’ll get with the Aegis X, but we’re not complaining as it’ll clearly show you everything you need to know with zero issues.
