My Von Erl Review: Pros and Cons of This Starter Kit

Pod based system have become extremely popular as of late due to its easy to use and compact design. This style of devices is great for both the beginner and advance user, but especially for the smoker who is transitioning into vaping.

When first receiving the My Von Erl Kit, I immediately noticed its simple yet elegant packaging. There's no crazy images or catch phrases on the front, just the name of the device alongside some minimal information such as what pod is included in the packaging. Honestly, this type of packaging looks like it would contain something much more expensive inside, and this is certainly not the case considering how cheap My Von Erl Kit actually is.

Included with this starter kit you do receive the My Von Erl battery, USB charging cable, 1 pod and a user manual. Everything is kept well secured, so there's no worries when this starter kit is in transit. The included pod with the kit we received was the Von Erl Classic Liquidpod Tabak Flavor 18mg. There are other Von Erl kits available that offer different flavors, which is definitely a pro in my opinion.

Now you might think 18mg, why such a high amount of nicotine, well to answer this question, the My Von Erl provides the vaper with a mouth to lung vape experience. So, typically if you would vape 3mg or so when direct lung inhaling, then you might enjoy 12mg or 18mg when vaping mouth to lung. I do think 18mg is a good nicotine strength for the beginner looking for a stronger throat hit, so this is a pro in my opinion.

Back to the packaging, once you slide open the box, you are immediately greeted with the battery and the My Von Erl pod. The battery and pod is separated, and the pod is sealed inside of plastic, which is great.

My first impression of the device was that it is incredibly sleek looking and very light. The My Von Erl features a quality anodized aluminum body with a textured matte finish so it feels great in the hands and it certainly feels of quality.

As mentioned previously, there are no buttons with the My Von Erl since it has a draw activated design. I do like this design, especially with these style of devices, because it makes it easy to use, and turns on basically when you're ready to take a vape.

The pod is easy to install as well, simply push it into the top end of the battery and it "clicks" into place.

The available pods do come in a pack of 2, and each of them does have a silicone to stop any potential leaking and simply keeps it safe during storage or transit. In addition, these pods are available in tons of different popular e-liquid brands such as Cuttwood, Taffy Man, Velvet Cloud, Frisco Vapor, and more.

Not to mention, each e-liquid pod is available in different nicotine strengths such as nicotine free, 6mg, 9mg, 12mg, 18mg, 24mg and some even up to 36mg! This is a huge pro, as the vaper who purchases one of these starter kits, such as My Von Erl, has a ton of flavor options available alongside nicotine strengths.

All in all, my first impressions of the My Von Erl Kit was great. This is an incredibly sleek looking pod based system, and definitely looks and feels much more expensive than what it actually costs.

As mentioned earlier, the My Von Erl Kit is incredibly small and lightweight, so I already knew this would be an excellent kit to bring with me on the road. Honestly, with My Von Erl in your pocket, sometimes you'll forget it's there, because of how lightweight and compact it is. In addition, with its size, it makes it easy to bring with you in your bag or purse since it won't take up much room at all.

Also, with its draw activated firing design, it makes the Von Erl easy to use, so regardless if you're a beginner or advanced user, you'll have no issues when it comes to using this device. Simply insert your pod into the battery and take a vape. Once you take a draw, Von Erl will fire and you'll be vaping! Simple as that!

What's great about these pod systems is that there are no screens or anything for you to adjust. Its simplicity is what attracts the vaper, and it just works as it should. I know there are a ton of new vapers and even experienced vapers who just want something simple to vape with, and My Von Erl is pretty much a perfect choice.

Charging the My Von Erl kit is easy as well. Simply plug the provided USB cable into your computer or outlet, and plug the other side into the My Von Erl.

Now a subjective con to be mentioned is that the charging port is on the bottom of the device. Due to the way it's designed, I don't really see anywhere else they've could have put it, but it wasn't a big deal to me. It does take a couple hours to charge when the battery is completed drained.

When charging this Von Erl, there is an LED light which indicates its status. Green would mean that it is fully charged, white would mean around 50% charge left and red would indicate that there's about 5 minutes of vaping time left.

Also, this device is shaped much like a vape pen, so it feels great in the hands. In addition, with this style of design My Von Erl will feel a bit more natural to the new vaper who recently quit smoking, which is great. New vapers can hold it like a traditional cigarette and take a vape and feel comfortable.

Unlike box mods or other devices in the vaping world which may seem overly complicated or just too big to the new vaper, Von Erl is pretty much the exact opposite which once again attracts the ex smoker.

Overall, using this device over the past month has been a pleasure, and My Von Erl is one of the first devices I go to grab when looking to stealth vape or want something easy and light to carry when going out of the house.

Now the biggest question in this My Von Erl review is how well does it perform? Well, I can certainly say it has excellent performance!

I do want to mention that this style of devices may not be for every vaper since it provides a mouth to lung vape experience. Many vapers do enjoy this style of vaping and would definitely be satisfied with the performance of this My Von Erl kit, but the vaper looking to direct lung inhale and loving plumes of vapor will not enjoy this device.

With that being said, the draw of the My Von Erl is almost perfect for a mouth to lung vape in my opinion. You can't adjust the draw, which can be seen as a con, but with the draw as is, I think it'll satisfy most vapers where they won't feel the need to adjust any airflow setting. The draw is relatively tight, which is ideal for a mouth to lung vape and something I do prefer with this style of vaping.

The included Tabak Liquidpod is a tobacco flavor, which is not a flavor I enjoy too much. I do think new vapers will enjoy it if they're looking for a good tobacco vape. I am glad that this My Von Erl kit is offered with different options, as I would've probably choose another included flavor such as a fruit or menthol Liquidpod. Also, the nicotine strength of the Tabak Liquidpod was 18mg, and it provided me with a pretty strong throat hit.

I typically vape 1.5mg or 3mg when direct lung inhaling, so 18mg was just a tad bit too much of a throat hit. However, I do think it'll fit vapers who're looking for a stronger throat hit.

The other Liquidpods received for review were 12mg, and these were much better suited for my vaping preference. At 12mg, I still got a relatively strong throat hit, but not nearly as strong as 18mg. The throat hit from both 12mg and 18mg was very satisfying and never felt the need to chain vape.

My favorite flavors that I received were Cuttwood Bird Brains, Night Shift By Velvet Cloud and Frisco Vapor Let The Fog Roll In. Two of them were cereal vapes, and the other was a dark coffee flavor (Velvet Cloud Night Shift). The coffee flavor was an excellent morning vape, and went well with a cup of coffee! The same can be said with the other two flavors as well, but the cereal flavors were the Liquidpods I would consider an all day vape.

The flavor from all of the Liquidpods were great and I was actually surprised by how good the flavor was. Honestly, I was expecting the flavor to be a bit bland, but this was certainly not the case using My Von Erl. The flavor was very noticeable, and came through quite clean with no weird taste or anything. I was quite familiar with Cuttwood Bird Brains and Night Shift by Velvet Cloud and they both tasted exactly like they should.

The vapor production was quite solid as well with each Liquidpod, especially considering this device provides you with a mouth to lung vape experience. Now, as mentioned previously, don't expect tons of vapor production as they're not meant for that. The My Von Erl provided more than enough vapor to keep me satisfied.

One con to be mentioned though is that I did experience some spit back with some of the pods. Not all of them had spit back, so I wasn't sure what was the exact cause. Regardless, it's still something worth mentioning about Von Erl. 

My Von Erl battery life was pretty good as well, but don't expect all day battery life if you're chain vaping though. Vaping on and off throughout the day I could easily get a solid 8 hours of use before needing to recharge the battery. If I were vaping a bit more often, I would get about 3 to 4 hours.

Keep in mind that the battery in this Von Erl device is only 320 mAh, but it's to be expected due to its size and design. I do think the battery life is quite good considering these factors. My Von Erl claims that each pod contains about 300 puffs, which I think it pretty accurate.

All in all, the performance of the My Von Erl Kit was excellent. It provided me with a solid mouth to lung vape experience, and I was always left satisfied.

In conclusion, the My Von Erl Kit is an excellent vape starter kit that's great for both the beginner and advanced user. This kit is incredibly easy to use, and simply works with no hassle. The performance is great, and it's compact size means that you can easily carry My Von Erl with you virtually anywhere.

There were a few cons to be mentioned, mostly subjective. The spit back that I experienced was certainly a con as no vaper enjoys this, but I'm happy to say it was only for a few pods, and after vaping the specific Liquidpods that did this, it went away fairly quick.

The other two cons are subjective, and like mentioned previously, due to Von Erl design it can only fit that size of the battery and have the USB charging port at the bottom. Honestly, with the power output this My Von Erl will provide, you don't really need a large battery.

All in all, the My Von Erl Kit is a winner. If you're a vaper who primarily enjoys mouth to lung vaping and want something that's incredibly simple and compact, then the My Von Erl is certainly a kit we recommend!
