Vaporesso Swag PX80 Review

Pocket friendly devices have become increasingly popular in recent years. The original Swag by Vaporesso was released quite some time ago, but now they’ve released a new variant to match the needs of the market.

Retaining a compact size, but offering new features and design, the Swag PX80 is looking at becoming a vaper’s ideal pocket vape. Is that indeed the case or does it not deliver? We’ll let you know that and more in our full Vaporesso Swag PX80 Review.

Swag PX80 Kit First Impressions

As mentioned in our initial preview, we expected the Vaporesso Swag PX80 and its packaging to be incredibly compact. A quick look at the box it comes in, you can tell immediately that it is indeed small. However, before moving onto that, we’ve got to mention how great Vaporesso’s packaging is. Simple and straight to the point! It tells you everything you need to know on the front and back including the coils compatible, battery size, charging port, specifications and what’s inside.

Speaking of what’s inside, you do get plenty! Once you slide open the box, you’re met with the Swag PX80 right away. It’s compact and the size does remind me of their previous Swag 2, which is another amazing device crafted by this brand.

It’s not as tiny as the Gen Nano, but it’s still compact and could easily fit in your pocket. Now, the primary difference here is that the overall length or height is shortened thanks to the pod tank design. Unlike the previous versions, the Swag PX80 features a magnetic connection to house the Swag pod rather than a traditional 510 connection. With that said, the tank sits within the connection, giving you an even stealthier pod mod.

At the top, you’ll also see the threaded battery cap to insert your external 18650 battery. On the front is where the embedded IML screen is. This feature is quite unique as you won’t see the screen behind the carbon fiber design (or other depending on color choice) until you turn it on. One concern I did have is whether the screen would be clear, but I’ll touch on this later.

Another interesting design choice by Vaporesso is that the front and back panels are two different materials. On the back you’ve got a softer cushion and the other where houses the display screen, you’ve got the standard IML panel which does not offer any cushioning. This isn’t a bad thing by any means, but different for sure. Lastly, on the front side, you’ve got you firing, wattage adjustment buttons and the USB type-C cable.

Inside the packaging, you’ll also get a single Swag pod tank (pre-installed onto the device), two GTX mesh coil heads, a charging cable, user manual, reminder card and warranty card. I don’t mind the single pod cartridge since the coils are replaceable. Unlike some other pod vapes, this one you can replace the coils rather than the entire cartridge, not only saving you money, but much better for the environment!

All in all, first impressions of the Vaporesso Swag PX80 Kit were perfect! I had no complaints with this one and was excited to install a coil, fill it up with e-liquid and vape!

Vaporesso Swag PX80 Performance Review

While the Swag PX80 by Vaporesso has many new and unique features when comparing it to past models, the big question is whether the performance holds up.

Ideal Size For Traveling

Before getting into the actual performance, we’ve got to talk about the size. It’s pretty much perfect when it comes to traveling, whether near or far. Fitting easily into your shirt pocket or bag plus the ability to house a single 18650 battery makes it the ideal device for when you’re out and about. There’s several pod mods and other devices that can house an external battery, but many, if not all are bigger than the Swag PX80, especially when it comes to the overall length.

It’s amazing to see that a pod mod or AIO (all in one) device this small can deliver that much performance! Not to mention, the price won’t be breaking the bank for anyone. When it comes to traveling, the Swag PX80 is an excellent choice.

Revolutionary Functionality

One concern I did have is with the embedded IML screen. While this is unique and not often see amongst competitors, the potential issue is the viewability, especially when outside. I can safely say that the screen is bright once it lights up and glows underneath the panel. Of course, it’s much easier to see indoors, but outside wasn’t an issue either. I’m impressed to say the least of how well this design is implemented.

Another absolutely amazing feature has to be the Swag pod tank. There are multiple reasons as to why, but the first is the fact that you can replace the coils without needing to empty the tank. The way this works is that when you install the coil, you’ll see the drip tip push up and opens the juice flow ports.

To take out the coil and replace it, simply push the drip tip down, and it’ll also close the e-juice ports. Additionally, when the coil is installed, it provides a complete seal at the bottom, which means zero leaking and little condensation! It’s honestly a brilliant design and easily puts this above the competitors. Vaping it for nearly a week straight and there was a minimal amount of condensation!

A feature that’s just convenient is the magnetic connection for the pod tank. It’s something we have seen before, but happy to see it implemented here. I do want to mention that although the design of this pod tank is pretty much flawless, there is a single drawback - you cannot take off the drip tip.

While that’s not a dealbreaker for me, that can be for some, especially if you’re wanting to use this for MTL vaping. Airflow is easily adjustable by simply rotating the pod while its installed, but the drip tip bore is wide, which is ideal for direct to lung, but not for mouth to lung. However, there are other amazing options for this vaping style including the Xros and GTX One Kit

Lastly, while the battery cap is pretty convenient the threading could be a bit better. I found it easiest to take off the pod tank to then take off the battery cap. This isn’t a huge issue either, but worth mentioning.

Stellar Coil & Wattage Performance

As mentioned earlier in our Vaporesso Swag PX80 Review, you do get two different coil heads in the box. One is a 0.2 ohm mesh and the other is a 0.3 ohm mesh. Both are from the GTX coil lineup and if you’ve seen our Luxe PM40 review then you know we’re huge fans. Time and time again these coils have been proven to be some of the best money can buy. Flavor is exceptional and vapor production is phenomenal.

With the Axon chipset, the Swag PX80 delivers up to 80w, more than enough to power any coil in the lineup. Since the airflow is adjustable, you can fully dial in the draw to your liking. Personally, I enjoyed cutting down the airflow and getting a warm and flavorful restrictive direct lung vape. The airflow is not the quietest nor is it the loudest we’ve experienced, but it is pretty smooth!

Vaporesso Swag PX80 Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Embedded IML Screen
  • Amazing Swag Pod Tank
  • Can Replace Coil without Emptying Tank
  • Leak Proof Design
  • GTX Coil Compatibility
  • Solid Performance from Axon Chipset
  • Incredibly Compact Size

Cons

  • Cannot Take Off or Replace Drip Tip
  • Battery Cap Threading Could Be Better

Conclusion - Exceptional Pocket Friendly Vape

To conclude our Vaporesso Swag PX80 review, it is an amazing vape kit that offers a lot of right out of the box. From the performance to the ease of use, it’s an incredible device that has features that’s simply better than the competition. The quad leakage protection and coil replacement system is just something you won’t really get from other pod mods. These two features are what truly makes it shine.

There were many pros to the Swag PX80, but also two cons. For one, the battery cap threading. This could be my unit only, but isn’t a big deal and may need to be broken in. Secondly is the drip tip. While it’s not replaceable it is comfortable. However, it is not ideal for mouth to lung vapers.

In the future, I hope we do see a Swag pod tank dedicated to this style of vape with a small bore mouthpiece, so we’re able to fully utilize those higher resistance GTX coils. However, it’s not necessary since there are plenty of awesome options from this brand that already exists.

All in all, I would highly recommend checking out the Vaporesso Swag PX80 Kit. It delivers in every aspect with no major drawbacks. It’s just that good!

We hope you enjoyed our review for the Vaporesso Swag PX80 pod mod kit! Feel free to let us know in the comments what are your thoughts on this device and if you have any questions. Thanks for reading!
