Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega Review

Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega Review

Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega Review

Vaporesso is mostly known for their ceramic coil heads and their Target kits. Tanks with ceramic coil heads have become increasingly popular as of late, and more companies are implementing these types of coil heads in some of their newer tanks.

Even though this is not really a new concept, these newer ceramic coil heads have been through a lot more research and development to provide the user with an improved vaping experience. Ceramic coil heads are certainly not for everyone, and provide a much different vaping experience than other traditional coil heads.

Vaporesso has recently released their newest tank, the Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega. Firstly, I would like to thank Heaven Gifts for sending this product my way for the purposes of this review. I will tell you exactly what I like and do not like, and conclude with telling you if I recommend this new vape tank or not!

Out of the Box

The Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega comes in a relatively small packaging. The front of the package tells you right away what the product is, and gives a small amount of information. On the back of the packaging, there is more information regarding the product and what is included. I did receive the black color, but there is a silver color available if that is something you prefer.

Included with this product, you do receive two coil heads, two cover lids in different colors, some spare parts such as o-rings, a replacement glass tank section, an instruction booklet and the Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega.

The bottom part of the box slides out, and it reveals the Vaporesso Estoc Mega Tank. This tank is definitely on the smaller side, even though it has the name Mega attached to it. The size to me, is perfect, as it would look great on most devices you attach it to.

This tank does have an overall diameter of 22mm, so you know for sure it will look great on most box mods. In addition, the overall height is 52mm. What is confusing though, is that on the Heaven Gifts website, this tank is stated to hold 4ml of e-liquid, and on the box of the product itself, it states 3ml. I do not have a syringe to measure it exactly, but it seemed to have fit around 3ml or 4ml of e-liquid. Regardless, I do think it fits a great amount of e-liquid given its size.

What makes this tank unique is the new coil heads and how you replace the coil heads. The Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega utilizes the new EUC coil heads, and is marketed as ecofriendly since you do not have change the metal sleeve when changing coil heads.

This allows Vaporesso to make the coil heads more affordable, and certainly saves time when changing coil heads. I will go more into detail about this specifically down in the performance section.

The Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega includes a pre-installed 0.5 ohm EUC ceramic coil head, and includes an extra 0.4 ohm EUC Clapton Coil. The Clapton Coil head does not use any ceramic material, and is more of a traditional coil head.

The Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega has adjustable airflow located at the bottom of the tank. Adjusting the airflow control ring was a bit stiff at first. This tank does not have a protruding 510 pin. I do not ever recommend using any type of subohm tank on a hybrid top cap device.

In addition, this tank features a top fill design similar to that of the Aspire Cleito Tank. It seems a lot of different tanks coming out features this same style of filling, as it is quite easy, and free of any e-liquid getting onto your hands.

The included delrin drip tip is removable, but is quite comfortable to use. However, some of my custom 510 drip tips were having an issue fitting. Most of my 510 drip tips did fit though, but it is worth mentioning that some may prove to be an issue or just be a tight fit. Regardless, this is still a pro, as many people do prefer using their own 510 drip tips.

The Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega is fairly easy to take apart. I did not notice any machine oil in this tank when first inspecting it, which is a huge pro in my book! However, I do recommend washing any atomizer you get at first regardless, just to be on the safe side.

Overall, my first impressions of the Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega were positive! This tank seems to be an easy to use tank, which is great for beginners!

Performance

Now onto the performance of the Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega! This tank performs just fine, nothing amazing though. My previous experience with ceramic coil heads from Vaporesso and others have been okay. Like said previously, ceramic coil heads are certainly not for everyone. I will first go over my experiences with the ceramic coil head then the traditional coil head.

Firstly, the ceramic coil head has a resistance of 0.5 ohm and is rated at 25w to 35w. To me, this is great as you do not need a ton of power to get a satisfying vape experience with these coils. These coils are composed of stainless steel, but I did not use them in temperature control, as I do prefer normal wattage mode.

With that being said, my personal experience with this coil head was not good whatsoever. For some reason, why I vape this tank with the ceramic coil head my mouth would get very dry. I have no idea as to why, but it did not matter what wattage or e-liquid I was vaping on, my mouth would get very dry.

It literally came to a point for me where I could no longer vape this tank with the EUC SS 0.5 ohm ceramic coil head. I am not sure if I am allergic to the ceramic material or if I had a bad coil since this tank only came with one. This was my personal experience and may differ for others.

However, when I was vaping the Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega with the ceramic coil, the flavor was very good. I would typically vape this coil head around 30w, and would get decent vapor production, but excellent flavor. Sadly, I was not able to vape these coils to really test them out fully as the dry mouth issue was just too uncomfortable for me.

The other coil this tank came with was certainly provided a different vaping experience for me. This coil head is the 0.4 ohm EUC Clapton Coil rated between 40w to 50w. Since these were traditional coil heads, and did not utilize any ceramic material I did not have the dry mouth issue.

The flavor on these coil heads were pretty good overall, but certainly not the best I’ve had. The flavor on the ceramic coil head is much better in comparison, so this is something definitely to keep in mind when purchasing this tank. Both of these coil heads are really small, especially in comparison to the coil heads being released with higher wattage tanks.

The vapor production with this coil head was also satisfying. Honestly, with either coil head you do not need to run high wattages to get a good vaping experience in regards to flavor and vapor production. With this coil head specifically, I would typically vape it around 37w to 40w.

Since only vaping at these lower wattages, the battery life was solid with the devices I would use them on. This is certainly a pro, especially if you are using a DNA75 device with a 26650 battery, as these devices at higher wattages tend to give a weak battery warning.

Both of these coil heads kept up pretty good with chain vaping as well, which is certainly a pro. However, It is important to note that I would typically vape these coil heads at lower wattages, so at higher wattages, they might not keep up as well.

These coils are definitely meant for lower wattage vaping, which is great as it can save tons of battery life when you are vaping. If you are looking for a much more high performing tank or a tank that can handle much more wattage in comparison, then feel free to check out my review of the Smok TFV8 Baby Beast right here. This would be a subohm tank that would be much more suited towards someone who wants to vape at higher wattages. You can also click the link down below if you are interested!

Changing coil heads in this tank is extremely easy as well. You can change your coil with the tank completely full with e-liquid, which is definitely a pro. All you need to do is unscrew the base, and the base comes out with the coil head.

The coil head press fits into the base section, and is certainly different than what I am used to. It really is easy to change coils, and took me less than 30 seconds to do it. I think this is definitely attractive to newer vapers, as it is just a convenient feature.

Filling this tank is also very easy, and can done rather quickly. Like said before, the top fill design is very similar to the Aspire Cleito tank. So if you are used to that tank, then this is really no different. Also, this tank does not go through e-liquid quickly like many other subohm tanks, which is certainly another pro. A full tank could easily last me a couple hours of heavy vaping before needing to refill.

This tank does feature adjustable bottom airflow. The airflow control ring was very stiff when I first received this tank, and it pretty much stayed this way throughout using it. Trying to adjust the airflow on a device was definitely a challenge since it was very stiff.

Even with e-liquid, and using the tank over some time, it was still like this. I have no idea as to why the airflow control ring was like this, but this is definitely a con. At times, adjusting the airflow literally took longer than changing a coil. It may just be my tank, but it certainly should be mentioned.

I do want to mention that I did not experience any leaking at all with this tank, and this would pertain to both coil heads. This is definitely another pro, as leaky tanks are never a good thing.

The drip tip included was also very comfortable to use, and did not see a reason to use one of my own. Of course this may be different for others, but I do consider this a pro.

Overall, the Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega is a pretty good performer. I did have some issues with this tank, which leads me into the next section, the cons!

Cons

The first con to be mentioned is the fact that my mouth would get dry when vaping the ceramic coil heads. Now, your experience may differ from mine, but I do still have to state this as a con. I have no idea as to why this would happen, but it did happen all the time with this specific coil head.

I may just be allergic to the ceramic material that is used in this coil head, or something of that nature, but like said before, it is certainly worth mentioning.

The second con is the adjustable airflow. The airflow control ring is very stiff, and takes a lot of effort for it to be adjusted. Even with using this tank over some time, and applying e-liquid around it, it was still extremely difficult to adjust. This may just be my specific tank that could have this issue, but I still think it is worth mentioning.

Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega Review

A subjective con could be that some 510 drip tips do not fit. A few of my custom 510 drip tips could not fit, and others would be a very snug fit. Of course this may vary with each 510 drip tip, but I do want to mention that I did have this issue with a few of mine.

Another subjective con is that these coil heads cannot handle very high wattages. With higher wattages, these coil heads will probably have trouble keeping up, especially since they are very small in size in comparison to other coil heads found in newer subohm tanks. However, these coil heads definitely are aimed towards vapers who prefer lower wattage vaping, but still worth mentioning.

Even though there are some cons, the Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega has many pros to it, which leads me to the next section, my conclusion!

Conclusion

The Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega is a tank that is definitely not for everybody. I really think this tank is marketed towards vapers who prefer to vape at lower wattages, and want a simple tank to use.

The price of this tank is really good as well, making it attractive to both newer and experienced vapers! Also, the coil heads are not expensive either, which is another huge pro!

The Estoc Tank Mega is really simple to use overall, which is certainly great for beginners who are now getting into subohm tanks and direct lung vaping. Some subohm tanks may just seem like too much, especially for beginners since some tanks require much higher wattages and produce a lot more vapor.

Now, if you are a cloud chaser and want a subohm tank that produces a ton of vapor, then this is definitely not a tank for you. This tank provides a much mellower vape, and produces excellent flavor with the ceramic coil head. Even though my experience with the ceramic coil head was not good, it may differ for other vapers.

The traditional EUC 0.4 ohm Clapton Coil also provided me with a satisfying vape at lower wattages, which is great as my battery life with the devices I would use with this tank was excellent. The Clapton Coil head is still going great too, and I have put about 30ml of e-liquid through it.

Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega Review

All in all, like said previously the Vaporesso Estoc Tank Mega is not for everyone, but if you are looking for a simple tank that is easy to use and provides you with a mellow vape, then this is a tank definitely to consider!

However, if you are looking for a subohm tank to cloud chase with, or run at higher wattages, then this is certainly not a tank for you.
