Maryland
Limited or unsettledSnapshot for general information only — not legal advice. Statewide regulatory detail below is drawn primarily from the Public Health Law Center 50-state review (as of June 15, 2025). Flavor categories and local highlights also use Truth Initiative (Q1 2026), CTFK (May 2026), Tax Foundation (2026), and the PHLC flavored-tobacco chart (June 2026). Always check current statutes.
Flavor / sales restrictions (statewide)
No clean statewide ban. A 2020 enforcement practice against flavored disposable vapes stopped in 2021 for lack of statutory authority. Some charts still list Maryland, so treat this as unsettled.
Local city / county rules
No clean statewide flavor statute for all e-cigarettes. Montgomery County has a notable local buffer-zone rule.
- Montgomery County: restricts distribution of flavored electronic cigarettes to retail stores within 0.5–1 mile of schools, libraries, or recreational facilities (Montgomery County Code § 24-16; PHLC June 2026; Truth Initiative notes buffer-zone limits).
Truth Initiative (Q1 2026): 1 Maryland jurisdiction with a flavored-tobacco sales restriction.
