New MVP 20W by Innokin

iTaste MVP 20w

MVP 20 Watt Box Mod

[dropcap]F[/dropcap]ans of the iTaste MVP 2.0 have been waiting patiently for Innokin to release the next generation MVP, and it looks like today is the day.

Earlier today Innokin announced that  they would begin taking wholesale orders for 3rd generation MVP called the iTaste MVP 20W.

The new Innokin iTaste MVP 20W, as you may have guessed, has had it’s output power boosted up to 20 watts with a new and improved chip-set. That’s a 9 watt increase over the 2.0 device which had a 11 watt maximum output. It’s both variable wattage and voltage so you can adjust the power out from 6.0 to 20.0 watts (in 0.5 watt increments) or adjust the voltage from 3.3 to 7.5 volts (in 0.1 volt increments).

The power system has also been improved with a new 32-bit ARM microprocessor which has faster data processing power and will provide users with a better vaping experience. The device has also been fitted with a steady VDC power output that has a 1% accuracy, this will increase battery life and improve reliability.

I can’t find the exact measurements of the MVP 20w but Innokin says it has a “sleeker look”. They did decrease the size by removing the protruding eGo connection that the MVP 2.0 had, instead the MVP 20w has a nice flush 510 connection with spring-loaded pin and they will now package a 510 to eGo adapter with the device.

The internal battery on the MVP 20w has the same capacity as the 2.0, 2600mah and like the 2.0 you can still use the battery to charge other electronics with the USB output. It also has the same LCD screen with two adjustment buttons and can display things like output power, atomizer resistance, and puffs taken.

I’ve died and gone to vape Heaven!

dang I wish they would have put the fire button on the side of the device instead of on the face of it. That’s one of the only things I really disliked about the mvp. imo.

  • Chris 12/05/2014

One correction, the MVP 2.0 only went to 11 watts, so this is actually a 9 watt upgrade. Not that it matters to me, I’ve never even wanted to go above 10 watts. However if this gets good reviews and has an accurate output signal I may buy one to use as a back-up for my ProVari P3.

I’ll be watching for the pre-order. Thanks.

9 watt increase over mvp2. The big question is how low does it fire? With a max of 7.5 volt output, I’d hope it fires down to .5 ohms. I’ll be getting one. I love my two mvp2’s and this would be perfect for a kayfun or one of my other rta’s.

Awesome , so glad they didn’t make any serious changes , i thought everything was already perfect with the MVP so i’m glad they did not change where the fire button was etc…

This one will drop in price like the 2.0 did eventually and they probably left the overall design similar because you just don’t mess with success.

The MVP has been one of the most successful mods ever and provides a stellar vaping experience , it’s flat single blows away many other competitors in the quality of vape it provides.

Oops , forgot to add that i can’t wait to see the premium version MVP , 30 watts with more bells and whistles.

  • Max 12/05/2014

    That’s not the MVP 3.0

  • Daniel 12/05/2014

Actually don’t think this is the MVP 3.0, Innokin said in a press release the 3.0 would come in 3 flavors including one that was 30Watts and could fire down to .4ohms. This on the other hand is 20watts and can only fire down to 1ohm (source: my innokin sales rep). I would hold off on bashing innokin just yet as I suspect they will release a true MVP3.0 in 30 and 40watts(40watts with coil temp control that is) using the new evolv boards. Not sure what the 3rd wattage class would be but if you read the press release here

Not trying to…… Anyhooo… this one will actually be the 4th. The original MVP came out.. & then a few months later, they revised it & started using their 2nd version (dubbed 1.5 unofficially- see RPad video) but still called it MVP, it just replaced the 1st.. The only thing it added, was outside Ego threading. Then, well, ya know the rest… =) MVP2… & now this one. While I do wish it could fire a little lower than 1 ohm, esp. considering what’s out there & the popularity of sub-ohm drippers, etc.. I’d say it’s so we wouldn’t have to carry more than 1 device… but In all honesty, most of us probably carry way more than 1 at any given time, anyway (lol) & well, there are SO many “other” higher wattage devices already out there, that CAN fire that low… So those can just be used on them for now…. imho, it’s not all that big of a deal.. just worthy of mention. Love the MVP’s.. & Innokin, actually… & can’t wait for this one too!

How low in ohms can it accept?

  • Mike 12/05/2014

I asked an Innokin Rep, and was told that this will have a $59.99 MSRP and will fire down to 0.8 ohm.

They are calling this the MVP20W, not the MVP3. Apparently, the MVP3 should be released soon with more battery capacity, a 30W limit, and the ability to fire atomizers down to 0.4 ohm.

Only 20 watts? To little to late, the Istick stole their market. They should have went to at least 30w, or even evolves new 40w.
